The Georgia Flood is een duo uit, jawel, Georgia (hoewel ze tegenwoordig in Atlanta wonen). En dan kan het niet anders of je groeit op met roots muziek. Zo ook Brooks Mason en Lane Kelly. Debuutplaat uit 2012 (met de pakkende titel The Georgia Flood) staat al een flinke tijd op onze iPod. Dat moet ook wel, want op Spotify staan slechts een paar liedjes.
Wat er wel op Spotify staat is Whistle King, de eerste single van de aankomende EP People Like Ourselves. Daarover zegt hun PR-bureau: “With influences like Modest Mouse and Young the Giant, “Whistle King” reaches into the realm of driving, fun mayhem and delivers a tune you can’t help but whistle along with. Momentarily bizarre and reasonable structured, the song takes detours through quirky lyrics and strange sounds.”
